And I'm thinking so much about how many things stick around long after their reason for being is gone. There was a good reason for this bridge, once! But now it's only there because no one knows it's purposeless

right!! It's such a good look at how somethings' lifecycle can fall into a unlife at the end; instead of making change to allow growth an obstacle lingers cuz no one remembers what it was for and that lack of knowledge is stymying
