I really enjoy the Advent of Code, i like doing horrible things with Brainfuck, i like streaming Haskell stuff and doing a bit to help dispell the myth that it's a difficult language.
...but it annoys me a bit that it basically means that my social media presence veers severely towards "tech influencer" for a few weeks every year. I feel like it's even more pronounced this year with the death of twitter: every other post i make seems to be "look at the stuff im doing!" coated in ironic distantiation ("shameless self-promotion"...). Is that just the price one has to pay for the mortifying ordeal of having their work seen? Or am doing it wrong? Or am i overreacting to a non-issue, and it's perfectly fine for one to shill their own stuff one month per year?
