i decided to use chrome's "Performance" tab to profile a timeline page load and see if i could diagnose why the whole thing freezes up for ages when it has to deal with several very long posts at once. i was instead given this piece of abstract artwork
edit: I do see that most of the time is spent in functions like e, a, m, f, anonymous, and ^((?:'(?:\'|.)*?'|"(?:\"|.)*?"|([^)]*?)|[^};])+)
i ran javascript profiler on the profile page of someone whose page loads and renders VERY slowly. it wants my credit card number. time to pay up
update: the Autofill chrome extension was going over every single page element trying to figure out if it could fill it
