this is only tangentially related but I’m gonna necro this year-old post to add: I read a book on what little we know of the Etruscan language, and they mentioned an artifact recovered in an Etruscan context that had an inscription in Greek. It was a cup and it said something like “drink up, So-and-so!” … except it was blatantly spelled wrong.
It’s surmised that a Greek person moved to Etruscan lands and his new friends gave him the cup and they tried their best
