Someone actually buys music in 2022???

hi here are a bunch of releases that are really good! when artists make music that's particularly special to me i want to go out of my way to support those works and artists. plus downloading high quality music can be useful for sampling, djing, putting on your zune, or making visuals. i also found a lot of these on cohost! ^_^

i've been in a HUGE dance music mood lately- my previous purchases have mostly been indie and on CDs/vinyl (la luz, soft blue shimmer, squirrel flower), mostly for personal listening. but i feel like mixing for other people, haven't done a DJ set in like a decade. a lot of these tracks are great for gliding through different rhythms that can be hard to mix through!

  • UPLINK - CROSSNIQ+ OST: dreamy dance music by @dvi-socialmode and ViRiX Dreamcore that dig deep into house, breakbeat and other bemani roots for a really atmospheric record

  • Gobi EP: funky sound-design heavy dnb on the neuro side from ZeroZero. i was reeled in by the song Tracker

  • WE ROB RAVE 7: old-school ravey roots and great production help this album range widely from modern leftfield-ey styles to chaotic jungle evocative of hardcore from 1999. if i had to pick, Faith is a banger, and check out MOOVIN' for a slower, more minimal vibe

  • From tonight to hurt this is actually not a really recent release (2013, which is 9 years ago, damn). this compilation from the record label Donky Pitch has 4 different releases from equally versatile artists on it. it's all great but special mention to the synthey club flip style heard through the LiL TExAS tracks, i miss that sound. and go check out more recent releases from the label!!

  • Swandive polished, time-stretchy-pitchy jungle beauty from Sully. title track is the gem

  • untitled break project an untitled break project by @unbecome111

  • star★☆ dreamy bedroom hyperpop with great songwriting by saoirse dream

  • reykjavik (demo) mysterious saturated moods punctuated by crunchy breakcore. by ルーシー LUCY

  • bubbytaffy six impala, omg they have so much music and it's all more or less as blissfully weird as this

  • on your mind (vip mix) by doss

lol oops. writing up ten releases is more work than i realized it was gonna be and i ran out of steam. those last 5 are just as good as the ones before even though i spent fewer words on them 😭
