Just now realizing that Bail Organa is probably kept in the rebellion purely because he owns R2-D2

Can you imagine how busy R2 must be putting out Bail's fires?? Bail must be so annoyed whenever he gets to meet Luthen and Luthen spends the entire meeting speaking directly to Bail's dog

I can't imagine the disdain Luthen must have for Bail Organa. He probably has a mental index of every pro-war resolution he voted for during the clone wars. Bail "Mister Opsec" Organa. The mfer who gets in his personal shuttle and flies directly to Tatooine to see Obi-Wan Kenobi. Bail Organa who has no less than 5 imperial agents tailing him at all times. Guy is always losing his ComLink with "not Yoda" in the contacts. Only reason the ISB hasn't cracked it yet is cause they think surely his password must be his birthday, but it's actually 12345. Luthen wears a full-body Hurt Locker bomb suit whenever he meets Bail "Rebel Mister Bean" Organa

I wonder if it does. I mean, if we assume that most of the TV shows basically just tell irrelevant side-stories, the sequel trilogy proposes the kinda-hilarious but parallel idea that everybody bad in the entire galaxy is just following orders from some weirdo space-wizard...even when he's dead. If that's the case, then it'd make (narrative) sense for his actual opponents to just be a couple of people who we don't pay attention to.

in reply to @Sullivan's post:

Bail doesn't exactly keep R2 around everywhere he goes, episode 3 has organa give the two droids to the captain of the ship Leia eventually used, Raymus Antilles.

Who was seemingly the equivalent of a supply runner, sneaking supplies through blockades to the Rebellion.
