Concept: Survival/Horror game. The survival and horror are neatly separated. The game has a 'day cycle' during which you must gather resources to keep yourself alive and fill need bars, but there are no dangers to encounter during the day. At night, you need to go to sleep to fill your energy meter, but when you do you are transported to a dream-landscape of horrors that plays out like a pure 'walking horror' game in the vein of PT or Layers of Fear.

that's really fun. like a ptsd guy who moved into the woods to get away from things and is largely at peace but still has terrible nightmares. you could go a couple different directions with that i think

you could tie the night world with the day world by making it slowly creep in until everything is scary and horrible all the time. this would be kind of cheap i think

or you could make it an allegory for recovery. the progression you make in the day time in various ways bolstering you at night, fortifying and preparing and aiding you until you can finally feel at peace with what you've built
