uh i have no idea what it is called but you can do it with a triple dash. eg:
text before read more

text after read more
It's already answered but it's called "read more" on the help page (hit the ❔ icon on the post window)
Adding to this, you can also get an in-line expandable element (rather than the read more fold) by putting your text in a details tag:

(text here)
</details>
