doesn't something about that feel kinda undignified? a vampire traipsing about before the coffee shops have even closed. getting hit by a snowball thrown by a 7 year old, walking past people who are walking their dogs at entirely ordinary hours, so on
wasn't there a really bad* movie about the extreme of that? ("30 days of night"?)

It was pretty forgettable, good premise but did nothing interesting with it.
Also one of the core conceits of Twilight was that the Oregonian town they lived it had the most cloud cover of the year in the US so it was safest for vampires.
