If you aren't an Old Computer And Electronics Dicker, I can't explain the feeling when you've been collecting objects for years and suddenly get one with a working battery. "wow. i can actually use this"

I have this x230t that I adore but I can't use it the way i want because I can never find a good battery for it and it's super frustrating
my nokia 6110 still miraculously runs for over a day in regular use on its original lithium ion battery from 1998. I've been using it on-off since 2005 and really the biggest problem with it is that it requires one of the chunky linear nokia chargers
custom 18650 laptop batteries are like homebrew CRT repair: they feel like things that should be achievable, but if i attempted it, i would surely Die
correct. occasionally someone tells me they rebuild packs but their tone of voice tells me all i need to know about why they're willing to do that
thinking about when i bought my thinkpad r31 and i went to test the battery for the lols and the hecking thing hung on for a whole hour
wish they stayed like that once there's some actual use on them though, the pack in my Libretto was fine five years ago but now it randomly shuts off after a few minutes.
