oh I missed the part where she survived a genocide, is that in book 3 (that I still haven't read yet oops)
she does bring it up in book 3 - explains a bit about why she is The Last Irish Person to Rosi, Houri and Maerlin. (Yes, she's Magical Irish - 'Clarion' isn't her birth name.) But of course I will eventually write out her tragic fall from normal-girl-hood in all horrific detail. You may remember in the very first scene that is depicted directly above, she said "my husband and my brother are both dead." One of those was her doing, the other not at all
