really interesting read, esp if like me you haven't read much about the history of canadian organizing: https://images.ourontario.ca/brant/1707750/data?n=
(big thanks to @dog for both pointing me at this and getting it published in the first place)
Getting this book published remains one of my all time career highlights. It was written in 1981, but the strike was still seen as too touchy a subject for the town and so it was left unpublished. In 2010 I happened to run into the author's granddaughter, who graciously provided me permission to digitize and publish the book. The local historical society, the Paris Museum and Historical Society, held one of the only copies of the book and were willing to lend it out for digitization. It's a treasure and a very valuable look into the history of the Candian small-town working class.
