making this work was mostly an adventure in finding out that apple calendar sucks ass and plays nice with absolutely nothing outside of the iphone ecosystem, but it works!! thought process was kinda "what's an instant notification/subscription service that everyone already has installed, only requires one opt-in, with no need to worry about a spam filter, and customizable alerts on both my end and user end?". the answer was so obvious it practically smacked me in the face lmao
