some time ago I searched for zog nit keyn mol on youtube, and one of the highest ranked hits was this video uploaded by Txomin:
however, the uploader does not credit where the song is from, and based on the comments seems to not even know yiddish themself. I quite like this rendition, so I decided to keep digging in case I could find a version that sources properly. after a comprehensive look through (using before: search operator and increasing year by one, keeping sorted reverse chronological, trying to look for a video with length around 2 minutes and 10 seconds) older videos of zog nit keyn mol on youtube, I believe this video uploaded by Bundist Movement is the oldest upload of it on youtube
(I also found two other uploads, one of which uploaded by Jewish Bund appears to copy the Bundist Movement video, and the other uploaded by SwePol. no credit provided either)
based on the spectrum plots of the videos' audio showing lower high and lows compared to mids (which I take as evidence for reëncoding) for Txomin's than Bundist Movement's, and for SwePol's than Txomin's, I'd presume Txomin downloaded the audio off of Bundist Movement and SwePol off Txomin. this would explain why Jewish Bund, Txomin, and SwePol don't include any credit – they don't know either, since Bundist Movement did not credit anyone in the initial upload, and the comments did not discuss it either
I have tried shazam as well, but it did not recognize the track, even though I verified it did work for others
at this point I am stuck, and would appreciate any pointers y'all can provide for finding the proper credit for this track. rebugs are appreciated
