I have eaten So Much Cheese, a glorious cupcake, AMAZING ramen, and have a baby pie and ice cream waiting for breakfast :D I have had well wishes from a multitude of friends, talked until my voice went hoarse, and now i’m curled up quietly in my bed. ...when the thing you were working on for the last good while turns out to just... not be the right thing to do, and now you have to set down all of that and like, make a 90 degree rotation and do another thing, but all you can hear is the like... grenade whine screech that is your mental transmission grinding gears. Which inevitably leads to anxiety about doing the new thing, and avoidant behaviors, because if you never do the new thing, certainly you cannot fail at it, right? 🤦🏻♀️
wet conditions: water soaks in, sometimes too much
dry conditions: water rolls off, cannot be absorbed, soil remains dry
amending with aeration agents like perlite, sponge rock, or bark can help improve water retention and thus prevent dry conditions from occurring.
I know that in crafting things, I like to show off all the details and touches that make what I made special. The lovingly-aligned pattern, or the perfectly custom fit bust, or the fact my hands and feet stick out the ends. Sometimes, though, you just need a thing, so you make the thing.
That's the story with these. They're the Portlander Pants pattern from New Horizons, which seems to have been renamed Pattern Niche since I bought it, and they're delightfully simple. cut out 4 leg pieces, optional patch pockets, and a waistband. assemble in the way you would assume them to be done. hem the bottom. DONE.
