one of the worst risks of getting into DIY stuff is that something as simple as buying a desk lamp can turn into questions like "how DO you cut aluminum extrusion" and "how much does a miter saw cost anyway"

My least favourite thing about DIY is discovering a new part of the DIY tech tree that I haven't researched yet and will cost a bunch of money

Is it strange that one of the first power tools I owned was a mitre saw? I don’t even know how I got it, I certainly didn’t buy it. I think I borrowed it from someone and they told me they didn’t need it back? But for a long period of time my inventory of power tools was: one mitre saw, one crappy cordless drill.

The saw is super handy.
