Every time I listened to “Clean Slate” by the Mountain Goats, I kept remembering that there was a different Mountain Goats song with the lyrics “clean slate” that I couldn’t recall the name of.
So naturally I relistened to their whole discography until I found it:
Alone with your bathroom mirror / try to get my head straight
Breathe on the glass and wait for it to clear / clean slate
