You may have heard about that free 44 GB Sonniss GDC 2023 bundle. In case you are unaware like I was, all of the sound effects and ambience are royalty free and commercially usable with no attribution required and you can use the sound effects on an unlimited number of projects. You can see the license here: https://sonniss.com/gdc-bundle-license/

I looked into it a little more and found out that the past bundles are still available. You can get all of them here: https://sonniss.com/gameaudiogdc

Altogether, it seems that Sonniss have released about 205 GB of content this way since they started in 2015, which is pretty neat. If you're wondering where the years 2021 and 2022 are, the official page for this year's bundle over at gdc.sonniss.com says that they have been bundled into the 2023 bundle.

i’ve had the first 3 years downloaded for a while and just downloaded the rest last week, and let me tell you this shit is SO nice. FL studio users: if you pop the folder into your browser, each of the filenames are just a bunch of tags, so especially with a library THIS massive you can just type the most niche word imaginable into the search bar and it’ll take like a quarter of a second for a couple good options to pop up. i use it to pull up cave or forest ambience a lot and i can pretty much always find something that’s perfect for the tone of the song i’m working on with so very little effort. highest recommendations.

IMPORTANT NOTE: with the above tagging system it is very easy to reach the max character length for filenames. put these as close to the root directory as you’re comfortable with cuz otherwise you might have to skip over a smattering of files like i did
