Buy cohost plus or the only social site that tries to be its own product - rather than making you into it - literally dies.
All the alternatives are garbage, so I cannot be emphatic enough about this without swearing a fuck of a lot. Please just do it; it costs less than a Netflix subscription.
the general api route is subscriptions.hasActiveSubscription. it takes a GET request with no params and returns a boolean. however, it can only query your own subscription state so it isn't of much use here. there is however the hasCohostPlus property of post objects, but that's only useful in cases where you're querying the page/user who shared(i assume) the post.
also hasCohostPlus on posts stays true even if the user who created the post no longer has cohost plus
