They are technically telling teh truth, they just said it in the most confusing way possible. In the tweets they said:
" Posting links or usernames to social media platforms not listed above are also not in violation of this policy."
so like, posting links to platforms listed Is in violation, they just wanted to try to save face a little wiff the double negative.
it's so funny how this is targeting specific platforms to which people who are owning him on qrts are moving to.
there's no mention or acknowledgement of other much bigger places from other places in the world like vk or naver.
can't be more transparent than that.
If this sort of "policy" is what it takes for more people to make their own, self-hosted personal sites, then so be it. Still a shitty move, though.
Sucks that the bar for self-hosting even a small site is still too high for most folks (not their fault, all the options are pretty intimidating if you're not tech-savvy), not to mention the lack of discoverability, unless we bring back webrings lol.
I'm actually impressed at just how thin Elon Musk's skin. The dude is a living container of salt that makes Mark Zuckerberg look decent by comparison, and i didn't even know that was possible.
