I feel like there's a decent number of "vague leftist" orgs that like... started in that weird in-between period where people had a lot of Intent and Ideas and not a lot of Actual Political Knowledge Or Willpower. So, some people joined them because they wanted to say they were A Socialist, but they don't actually know what that means entirely or how to do socialist praxis, y'know? And certainly there are leftists orgs that have stuck around long enough to become part of the Political System, or newer leftist orgs that are more purpose-built and have some actual Actions To Take, but lord knows there's a reason there was/is a genre of jokes about anarchists & socialists just spending all their time bickering instead of getting anything done.

All of which is to say I relate & I agree, and I wish you the best of luck figuring out what to do going forward.

I will say about this particular org is everyone involved absolutely has read a lot of books and has a lot of political knowledge and is very actively engaged with studying and theory and working on developing praxis and the like. But I don't think that's the issue. This isn't the DSA and this org pre-dates the bernie boom

Yeah they take things more seriously than anyone else and really put the scientific into socialist science. They are not a cult of ideology or historical figure worship like so many other leftist orgs. They just also struggle to get members to actually be able to put in work and make wins without burnout and conflict
