I went through both hell and high water (the latter literally) to find nutritional yeast for a dear friend

yesterday I got off the trolley at the specialty grocery store to find that I had accidentally gotten off ~7 blocks too early. so I started walking, and it started raining, and it started raining, and the rain started coming down so hard I couldn't see in front of me and had to hide under a steeple waiting to be rescued by my girlfriend with a car. as we drive off I find that I had actually passed the store while walking but just didn't see it in the rain lmao

im dying. I just wanna make cozy comfort food for someone ;_;

went to a different store tonight and they ofc didn't have yeast so I just paid way to much for way too little vegan cheese. I, am not confident in this dish,,,, we'll see in 20 minutes or so if mac and cheese is any good w/o much cheese haha rip wish it luck

in reply to @numberonebug's post:

it's uh. cook some bacon, then cook diced onion and bell pepper in the fat. Chop the bacon into smaller pieces. Drain out most of the fat, the dump all of the above into your pasta and grate just enough cheddar over it all to sorta stick the bits to the pasta, stir until the cheese melts. Dunno how much cheese it uses but a lot less (and definitely less dairy overall than with béchamel)

obviously all of those steps are optional other than "idk just throw enough grated cheese in there that there's some in each bite"
