I always forget how cool libraries are until I go to one and am like oh damn we live in a society
idk there's just something genuinely surreal in going to a vibrant and comfortable space, walking in the front door, grabbing a seat, and starting to work all without anyone looking at me expectantly and without any transaction. wild to just, exist. the positive version of the sensation of expecting there to be a step but there not being one, like, feeling the muscle memory of reaching for my wallet to pay somebody or another but finding no payment to make
Anyways. I stopped off after work because going straight from work to an empty apartment is bleak and it was really restorative. Got a lot of work done, lounged about reading about Rome, chatted with strangers, 10/10 I gotta build a habit out of going
