I went last year as my first con and had fun! It’s cool to see some of the furry con staples like the dealer’s den and dance comp. The location is pretty convenient now that they’ve moved into center city and has good sized event spaces; you could tell they had some growing pains last year but a lot of the things that went wrong seem like mistakes you only make once so I have faith that it’ll be smoother this year. It also helps if you have friends to go with because it can be a bit overwhelming; it’s nice to have a source of comfort that you can use to anchor yourself.

When I went it was a nice "first time" con; small enough that it was easy to navigate & had plenty of breaks between panels, large enough that there was stuff to do & plenty of people to meet. It's since grown large enough to take over the downtown convention center, so I suspect it's closer to my old home con of RMFC now: big enough that it can be a bit overwhelming, but still small enough that you don't feel like you're missing out on something just 'cuz you wanted to get lunch or sit for a bit. If you want a buddy to attend with, lmk, 'cuz I'm planning on at least grabbing a day pass or two to say "hi" to friends!
