Hey does anyone in my circle work in data science/bioinformatics in Philly? I'm curious what the local field is like and what my options will be post grad. Also just wanting to have more people to talk about data with lol

I work in Web Analytics in Pittsburgh, which isn't exactly local but will get clustered together quite often ;). Bio-related stuff is definitely one of the larger things out here.
Depending on how insistent you are staying within bioinformatics, there are a lot of opportunities adjacent to data science. Many of them will say "analyst" or "business intelligence," but if you're coming in with a data science background you'll likely be suited for the role. The one caveat is expect data to be not the main competency of the company, so try and land someplace that has at least a small existing team so you don't feel isolated.
