I got to send off an emergency prior auth request today and oho that was so fun! it felt like riding a motorcycle after having only ever seen tricycles, like, an entirely different yet similar workflow that was more serious and crisp.
also god the words "emergency prior auth" felt sickening to hear, I kinda assumed this weird dance was waved in emergencies but no they just waste more money on those cases
also also I love this aspect of healthcare where it's like "a person was whisked off to the OR and I'm having fun playing with the beurocratic tools which make that possible"
