I stopped going to church a few weeks ago after a sermon that covered a text which boiled down to "this man didn't give to charity so he went to hell forever". the pastor did a great job of "wrestling out the grace from the text" as she put it but the text was still fucking Bad
the pastor offered to take me for coffee so we could discuss things and it was weirdly helpful? idk if anyone wants to hear a longform post but like yeah no I get it now
but the real thing is that we gushed about a swedish folk festival (st lucia's day) that we both love and like,, yeah no lol theology doesn't actually matter that much it's the fact that we both remember the same traditions
idk I think im starting to move from "I have to begrudgingly go back to Christianity" to "oh there's actually something of worth and value here"
