the city came and tore up the top few layers of asphalt off the street in front of my house, presumably to repave it, so I spent my lunch break trying to figure out what government agency is overseeing that so that I could bark at them about how they oughta make sure that the new road has a bike lane like the old one did (not having a smartphone has aged my brain by thirty years. this is the shit I do instead of posting)
come to find, the reason they tore the street up is primarily so that they can replace that bike lane with,,, a protected bike lane, while also doing a "road diet" to the driving portions
