and also sometimes wishing you could be interpreted as saying all of them, with various confidence intervals, instead of having to pick just one or painstakingly explain two or three of them. I'm not vague I'm attempting to communicate an entire thought complex!
Right?? I almost never pull it off, but the rare sentence that's a superposition of several incompatible meanings somehow harmonizing to convey an inexpressible concept is a thing of ethereal beauty.
i might be thinking of something slightly different, but yesss!! this is one of the goals i've had for my writing and it's very rare to come across ones that manage to do it like that
This is what I mean when I tell people I hate being misunderstood. Sadly, everything we say can be misunderstood in countless ways and I am thinking about all of them all the time :P
