We have clinic today so I'm working the front desk, and when I sat down the clerk who works front desk for the other department in this clinic asked "so have you ever had someone throw a slur at you or say something derogatory to you for being jewish" hhhhhhhhhhh aaaaaaaaaa
Turns out someone had said something cruel to her and she was struggling with the requirement to forgive those who hurt you, to "turn the other cheek" so to say. she wanted to know if I, as someone who is also religious, had advice or also struggled with this.
I'm always tickled when Christians ask me for advice with this sort of thing because I get to go "so that part of your faith you see as universal and also that you struggle with is actually very weird and unique to Christianity and you can set it down if it's too heavy, here's a different way you can look at things" which is always a lovely conversation.
