I understand that it's a nice accomodation due to the fact that as a hospital a lot of people here can't leave anytime soon, but it is still undeniably unsettling to hear over the emergency speakers "we will be distributing ashes at [location]" repeated thrice like it's a dire warning
We will continue distributing ashes until morale improves!
Anyways. Really do love this "accommodating people who cannot leave but whose religion obligates them to do a thing by bringing that thing to them". Feels very Jewish. Would love it if they'd expand this out, could you imagine someone just blowing a loud rams horn in the middle of the hospital without warning some fall day so everyone who needs to hear it gets to hear it? or maybe someone going around with a lulav and etrog to see if anyone needs to shake it? That'd be great
