aaaaah lmao, this was me for years!! my name was a "panic buy" the first week of college cuz i had only barely figured out i was non-binary, but didnt want to tell all the new ppl i was meeting my legal name. Hamlet is actually half of my hyphenated last name, so it seemed like it could plausibly be just a nickname if i changed my mind about this whole Gender Thing. i tried many many times over the years to try different names but, yeah the XKCD comic expresses exactly how that went.
