From when I first moved out on my own and did not have much in the way of furniture
So after the war broke out my shul started saying a prayer that's like, for the peace and safety of everyone in ezrit yisrael, trying to strike a balance between there being a large contingent of people there who are antizionist and an equally large contingent who like, served in the IDF lol, and people across the sides with family in the country.
(Fwiw, seeing as most synagogues have at that part of service just straight up a prayer for the IDF, and also having experienced being excluded and pushed out of an antizionist shul, I think it's good we're striking a balance)
Anyways, I have a friend who does not like that we do this, and has wanted for the past handful of months to storm out loudly whenever we get to that part to express their displeasure. Unfortunately they always sleep in and have never arrived early enough to leave lmao. A few weeks ago though we were running suuuuper late and they were able to get there just as we got to that part of the service, so they got to storm out and make their point (and then come back an hour or so later for lunch lol). Very happy for them
I'm just very tickled by it all
I forgot to pack my lunch today but since im now keeping kosher the work cafeteria is a "water water everywhere not a drop to drink" kind of situation 🥴 this suuuuucks
I was able to find an overpriced protein bar and a thing of yogurt with heckscherim so, good to know there's two drops in there for me next time I forget my lunch lol
