what.
like maybe they're not optimal if one is experiencing actual dehydration symptoms (caffeine is somewhat diuretic iirc) but I'm pretty sure those things are liquids so please stop making these posts if you're not specifically trying to drive me into a pedantic frenzy.
the "everyone is chronically dehydrated and you need to drink the equivalent of 2 gallons of water a day" thing has been annoying me for years, but the recent mutation where foods and beverages do not contain water, and only pure unflavored water counts, is bonkers.
this reminds me of how doctors would literally say the exercise i got at work (running back and forth across a walgreens 8 hours a day a few days a week, lifting heavy shit, pushing big carts of heavy boxes and totes around, scooting around with the mop, etc. etc. etc.) "didn't count" because it was "just part of my daily routine" lmaoooooooo. like ok so if i have a weekly exercise routine does that also not count? because it's a routine? how can you be telling me to "get regular exercise" when i'm apparently only supposed to get surprise unplanned exercise? like should i just wander out into the woods and hope i get chased by an angry skunk once in a while or,,,,
also you can cause actual harm to yourself drinking a ton of water!! this recent trend of encouraging people to go ham on like, huge bottles of water 24/7 honestly worries me. electrolyte imbalance Is A Thing, it's what sports drinks and pedialyte and stuff are formulated to address, that's why they have salt and sugar in them. your body can only use so much water at once, so if you're drinking a shit ton of water every hour on the hour, you're mostly gonna get bored of the inside of your bathroom. at WORST you could end up with water intoxication which can kill you.
and yes! DI (deionized) water is not good for you! even distilled water isn’t great if it’s your main source of water.
also also drinking a lot of water fast is actually rough on your kidneys bc they try to keep your body at a certain level of hydration and massive influx causes overdrive. this can actually make you tired.
also also also you should aim for light yellow pee. darker is bad but always clear is also bad bc that means your body is constantly getting rid of water which is no good.
