i don't know about a season 2 but the LN has a lot more content in it!! also if you look closely there are some references in the Alicization arc.
final bit: I got the blu-rays and they have translated commentaries that are a BLAST to listen to
this is one of my favorite anime of all time, and definitely not because i'm tall IRL, play short characters that have overwhelming pink coloring, and my favorite gun in CS was the p90. no, none of that >.<
