the feature request forum is not the black hole that feature requests are on so many websites.
in what way, you ask?
well, whenever i finish a ticket and there are no urgent tasks on my radar, the first thing i do is sort of the feature request forum by "Popular" and go down the list looking for a feature request that's in my wheelhouse. what i pick is generally biased slightly by "things i want to exist as an actual user of this website," but the list & most of the priority-order comes from the feature request forum and upvotes therein. if you want to see something on cohost, upvote it on the feature request forum, or—if you don't see it—post it yourself!
i promise, we are listening. we are learning and growing and implementing.
even as a relatively new user of cohost, i have consistently seen the experience improve by leaps and bounds.
and most importantly the changes are done in ways that clearly indicate the staff are users too. some examples:
i'm sure that there are a11y issues i am not aware of but we as users need to unlearn the initial response of "whelp this will never be fixed so i should leave."
at some point in the last decade we became surrounded by websites run not by people but by corporations and have learned time and time again they don't listen when it comes to issues with those websites. so far, and i'm fairly confident for the foreseeable future, that does not appear to be the case for cohost.
also, staff is 4 people so if things don't get fixed in a snap give them some space to breathe.
this may be one of the first sites in years that i feel comfortable assuming the best intentions when mistakes happen (like the private pinned tags) and i'd like to think the more we treat it that way the longer that will be the case.
and above all, remember praise be eggbug
