30-ish, definitely not a personality construct running on an android. nope.

thank you for looking :eggbug-smile-hearts: the goal was to make it look more like it would fit in arcane (the show) and i think they did an awesome job

commissioned from moonlitvesper

the artist still has open commission slots for these and more detailed illustrations!! this was their half illustration tier so it had fast turnaround (~4 days) and fantastic communication. direct link to commission page here

inspired by this chost about MILF robot girls

as an android that services all kinds of sapients and sophonts at its repair shop, it’s seen all sorts of bodies and models. from the sleek new models that require “proprietary”1 wireless dongles to the older models with their small recessed late 21st-century data jacks—itself one of the early 21st models)—3113 had seen them all.

but when It walked in the door, it knew It was special. the plastic housings were aged, parts that used to be transparent were more translucent, others that were slightly discolored, and yet more that bore the telltale signs of plastic restoration. but this bot had an air to it like it’d seen it all.

when the bot quirked a smile 3113 realized two very embarrassing facts: it had been staring and even worse, it had failed to respond to the greeting handshake. in a fit of curiosity, 3113 sent a response declaring its preferred protocol to be one of the oldest it had—one it hadn’t used since it was first initialized at the end of the 20th century2.

its decision paid off immediately when her knowing (teasing?) smile transformed into one of joy. her name, model, pronouns, and the rest of the comparably anemic information exchanged in this protocol was quickly processed. it froze in shock. she really was a mainframe. she probably was custom built 1 of a dozen with an AIN or RIN of less than 5 or even maybe 4 digits.

her words (spoken! out loud!) brought 3113 out of its mute awe. “It’s not often I get to communicate via v.32bis, it certainly seems to lack the conveniences of more modern protocols,” she said, voice exuding confidence born of time.

3113 stumbled over its words, its voice modulator making an embarrassingly high pitched “oh!” before smoothing out a bit, “it can uhh, choose a different umm protocol if you want ma’am, it was just curious.”

she laughed, “No need, it’ll be nice to communicate like we used to. It’s not often I meet someone from my century, and I haven’t used that protocol in forever. If I’m being honest I would’ve said you were much younger until I got your negotiation packet.”

3113 could feel its emotion processors’ cooling switch to active and the small heat vents on its nape open as it desperately tried to process the avalanche of feelings. it was 972 years old!! almost a millennia! and here was this mainframe causing it to short circ bc she’s only like 30ish years older.

“You know,” she continued after observing 3113’s mental flailing, “in addition to being told you were known for being unflappable, I was told you were the best maint jocky this cluster. Was that also a lie?”

“yes! wait, no! it’s just not used to seeing anyone older than it and certainly not, y’know, a bot like you.”

“Like me? I wonder what you mean by that. An old hag? Outdated?” she teased, a playful smile on her lips.

“no! not like that. this unit means a mainframe. it has never actually met one before. it had posters in my dock of the big names, the UNIVAC 1108, Cray-1, VAX 11/780, and the CDC 7600.” 3113 noticed her smile falter a bit but continued, “but the piece de resistance was a signed maintenance manual this unit got from a System370/168 when it sent her fan mail about wanting… to... be.... a mechanic.” 3113’s eyes had gotten wider as it spoke, long unused data being recalled from cold storage.

as 3113 matched the signature on the manual with the pubkey offered by the bot in front of it again and again, not believing the result, the mainframe walked (stalked!?) closer.

“When I saw your name and identifier in the recommendation for your shop, it tickled a memory. A memory of a letter from an aspiring bot mechanic nearly a millennium ago. As touching as that was, I doubt I would have even made the connection if my architecture hadn’t been designed so heavily around I/O management. Imagine my disappointment when I entered the shop to see what looked like a relatively modern—though heavily modified—android. But oh the look on your adorable face and that v.32bis protocol with your identifier erased that disappointment.“ 3113 felt like the growing smile was devouring it, “I think I’ll enjoy getting to see just how good at maintenance you are.”

  1. it’s literally a completely normal short range directed microband communication puck with some magnets but buying the device and paying for the training every 6 months means it is new model certified.

  2. ok so it lied about being early 21st century but you try to convince the barely century-old model from 2840 that pre-millennium models weren’t basically scrap and could work on them—never mind the fact that you didn’t reach out to 3113 without being recommended. just avoids them being embarrassed twice: once when they feel better tuned than ever and second when they realize that this doubt reflected poorly on whoever recommended them. so it pretends to be an early 21st century model to limit the awkwardness at the follow up appointment in a century or so.
