using cohost like its tumblr 2 and putting comments in tags like any polite yet unhinged person

this is what people should do and it's very funny to me that they don't do it!! it's a funny marker of what social media sites people come from - ex-tumblr people do this and ex-twitter people definitely do not

one thing that I miss about the mac software scene growing up was how not just polished, but also fun everything was. you'd grab even the most basic of software off of some random website and it came with like a high resolution icon designed in photoshop plus a whole bunch of bells and whistles in the UI. you'd do something and your computer would make a little noise to tell you that it's working on it. UI elements would stick out in a way that felt natural. it's something that windows and even linux didn't quite get; the fact that computers should be enjoyable to use and not just tools that let you do stuff.

unfortunately it seems that the philosophy has largely fallen out of favor even on the apple side. I still might see something cool from time to time but I can't look at something and go "man I want that" because it's mostly just utilitarian white boxes now. I really think that the world would benefit as a whole if people started throwing mildly fun stuff into software again.

ill give co host this : ive used it more than i have that pillowfort site when it came out , or any of those other "twitter replacements" that have came out. and also there are cool people who post nice things here .

However , i still am waiting 4 all me friends to join .. and also this site hasnt yet surpassed my usage of new grounds yet, which i am unsure it will. i am still unsure how i feel about this webbed site as a whole right meow

also another thing : None of the social webbed sites im on right now have even come Close to the best posts ive seen from tumblr. tumblr has its own huge problems and its bad posts are Really bad , However its best posts are Really good and really funny and i love how incomprehislbe some posts are that no twitter post is even Capable of reaching . co host has the Potential to , but i havent seen any silly posts like that yet.

heonstly, thionking about it now , i dont think its fair to compare these sites to newgrounds. newgrounds aint really a social media site i think , its more of just a place for a ton of art and games and music and its Really Really good at that and the community is actually active when it comes to like , supporting artists n stuff there. the problem with stuff like pillowfort which was like kind of focused on being a "better art platform than twitter", there wasnt really an active community and what Is there is basically just. Another Twitter. so at that point wats even the point of using the new site when everyones just gonna keep using twitter. say wat u will about newgrounds, but at least its got its own thing goin on and its going pretty well. ive joined a few of these New Sites That Are Technically Better Than The Algoreethymn Sites , and all of them just kinda Died and everyone just went back to twitter.

i think this co host site at least is doing good so far with like , it being its a little like own thing with cool features and stuff, but i am still unsure about it. a lot of this site feels like just a New Tumblr and it still doesnt have most of da features or an all too big community yet so ... Idk. We will see ... with time !
