I was previously employed at Stripe to work on incredibly high requirement websites professionally for 4 years. That experience taught me how easily websites can become rabbit holes.
My new site is on bear blog using the default theme and a bunch of quickly slapped together inline styles where necessary to make things look neat. I mostly edit things directly in the dashboard, hit publish (yolo), and see if it looks ok.
It's totally fine to just have a super basic place to put stuff on the internet.
