I've been subscribed since summer 2022 and have listened to very few shows as they drop because they're all sequels to previously released seasons, including statements that you shouldn't start there. Having that kind of continuity would be great if I got in on the ground floor, but makes it impossible to start anytime recently. I barely have time to get through all the podcasts I'm subbed to without having to go back and listen to multiple 30+ episode seasons.

This problem is kind of endemic to actual play podcasts, but the multiple related seasons of FATT makes it really hard. I loved Bluff City and the episodes of Twilight Mirage I listened to when I was playing the Veil. I just wish I had the time to catch up and listen live.

We hear this a lot obviously but I highly recommend people check out Sangfielle and/or Partizan, currently our most recent and second most recent completed seasons! They're just from the last couple years and are excellent starting points! Sangfielle is currently a standalone creepy post apocalypse adventure with horror elements and horror themes, and Partizan is a revolutionary sci fi show with big robots, and the direct precursor to the currently airing series.

We're so grateful to our listeners who have conquered the back catalogue and all have different favorites and different recommendations for where to jump in, but we appreciate that most often new listeners will want somewhere easy and explainable to drop in and start listening.

I definitely think podcast apps could do a better job of this; if you could group episodes into some kind of sub-show group and subscribe to/listen through individual seasons instead of only to the show as a whole that would really help. It’s not really either party’s fault when “go listen to this season” involves scrolling through sometimes hundreds of episodes to find the right ones, and manually downloading them individually, but it could definitely be handled better

Explaining why I turned off my alarms on accident makes me sound like a crazy person

  • I use the "do not disturb" function to stop getting text notifications at like 1am which are waking me up.

  • last month, during covid, I turned off all alarms via the "do not disurb" function, but this is in a sub menu, but this changes what happens when you select "do not disturb" in the menu again.

  • when I set it again last night, something I've done hundreds of times before, the only indication that something was different was the icon in the phone's notification tray, which is slightly different. I am expecting "do not disturb" to keep alarms on when I select it again

the only Text information that alarms are off, is in the sub menu for the do not disturb feature. And when I woke up at 9:08. this morning.

I am going to have to buy a real life alarm clock now because I don't trust a fucking phone anymore to do what it's done hundreds of times before - turn off notifications but not alarms - because it might not tell me what it's doing - because they had to make the UI have as little information as possible so it looks "nice"

we are enslaved to these fucking phones I fucking hate them.

oh we are SO fucking back i can FINALLY make good art again after like checks watch uh six?? months??? im so happy about how my stuff is turning out lately AND im starting to enjoy the process of making art again!!! letting go of my normally structured and clean process/style is SO liberating, this painterly one is much more freeing and less tedious/awful to work with!!!

you might recognize the top character, they belong to a good friend of mine! they were the one who commissioned me a while ago to draw that same character, their sona so keeping my inspiration from that drawing i had to draw my sona with theirs!!!! 🥺 one of my favorite things to do ever is draw my sona hanging out with my friends… it makes me so so happy especially since i dont always get to see a lot of my homies in person!

my latest report from the genderswap manga mines is this: kareshi tokidoki kanojo, or "boyfriend sometimes girlfriend" is really fucking good. how good? the first chapter is dedicated entirely to the main couple getting together/their early relationship, and it's such a well-written romance that i genuinely forgot i was reading a genderswap manga. i was surprised when the transformation takes place! i was like "oh my god, right, this is more than just an incredibly well-written m/f love story"

for the unaware, shiritori is the japanese name for the common word game in which you have to say a word or phrase that begins with whatever letter, syllable, etc. ended the previous player's word or phrase (i think this has a name in english too but i can't remember it.) but the thing that's really effective about this to me is that it illustrates how, like, gentle these kids are. like they have this shared feeling that weaponizing mean words to "win" a game of shiritori is mean, it's not recognizing the fun in the game, and that shared gentleness informs the entire course of their relationship.

the manga seems to be maintaining this level of quality in future chapters, and it's one of the few genderswap manga i've seen that is actually invested in the practical realities of a sudden transformation to womanhood. hodaka, our genderswapping protagonist, has to actually get fitted for bras and the process is just as annoying and involved as it is irl and yet manages to produce a believable sense of sexual tension between the couple without feeling voyeuristic. highly recommended for fans of the genre, in which it is absolutely a standout work
