I'm gonna be doing a charity stream later this month for the Queer Indie Games Showcase, in support of nonprofit Stream for a Cause. as the title suggests, we're gonna be streaming queer indie games. the category for the showcase is loosely defined as "queer stories or developers"

I want recommendations for indie games made by LGBTQIA+ developers! please give them to me!! and also maybe rechost me so I get more! I'm a big indie games person so y'all kindly try to focus on lesser-known games and devs. also, you're more than welcome (in fact, you're invited) to share your own games here, too

disclaimer or something: I work a lot nowadays and only have a limited amount of time to stream, especially during a single week, but I wanna showcase as many games as possible while I raise money for charity. this means I may not get to everything, and may lead to games not necessarily being showcased perfectly (since I won't have a lot of time with each game) but I think it'll be fun and cool

EDIT: a lot more people have seen this than I thought would so thank y'all very much for sharing! I realized I should add my donation link, which will be active for the entire month of June, as well as my stream link. the event is from June 18th-24th and I will almost certainly be streaming on Friday, June 23rd, at 6PM Central time. anything by Jump Over The Age/Gareth Damien Martin, especially Citizen Sleeper
anything by Christine Love, especially Get In The Car Loser (because I love JRPGs)

Hey! I’ll plug my own game here that would fit both the queer stories and queer developers!

Sprout: Solstice is a story featuring two YA lesbians that have a huge crush on each other.
The game is set in winter and it covers themes of social expectations, loss of loved ones, and being young and silly.

My team is entirely different flavors of queer, and we're currently working on a text based fairy-tale RPG called Mushroom Musume! In it you painstakingly raise a mushroom into a full grown adult, then follow her around for a while and see what sort of life she leads (often involving shenanigans, love, murder, or anything else her heart desires)

sadly it's flash and has a bug when played under ruffle, so running it is a pain

Lucah: Born of a Dream is one of my favorite action games and its themes of religious trauma and queer acceptance hit hard

Spare Parts is an episodic queer sci-fi VN that I am absolutely in love with

Secret Little Haven is a lovely trans story set in on a late 90s PC in anime forums and messenger apps

NOISZ Starlivht is a brain-melting bullet hell/rhythm game hybrid with a VN story and a queer cast, it's quite unique

"Jumpman" is a game by me: https://runhello.com/p/24 I made it around 2008, and you may have trouble running it on modern hardware (I think some horrible problem with VSync means that the Windows version slows down to 3/4 speed if you don't disable vsync forcibly somehow), but a normal playthrough is like 90 min and the speedrun is in the 8-15 minute range (so it's learnable) and there's one piece of absolutely bizarre tech the speedrunners found that blew my mind (there's a button that takes a screenshot, which causes the game to freeze for up to a second, and that gives you enough time to fire off multiple jumps in a single frame, blowing the character upward so quickly they often travel through walls)

"Get in the Car, Loser!", by my partner Christine Love, is a slightly longer run but a very queer game and I think the speedrun is in the hour range, it's an RPG so the speedrun is build/execution focused

My own team's game Copy Kitty would be fun! (steam/itch)

I'm NB and my wife is trans, the game was made by the two of us. It's a cool action game about a gay cat who blows up robots! I think it'd be a good fit for this, since it's divided into short levels/worlds that give natural stopping points.

Yep! I was unsure for a while as to whether or not I wanted to put an 18+ tag on it, but wanted to be safe.

In specific, there's an optional roleplay that the main character can do in the month of may where one character is described, in text, as giving another character a blowjob. The language is more flowery (i.e. "buried his face between his legs") than descriptive (i.e. "grabbed his dick like a Shake Weight").

There are no NSFW images in the game.
