We've got who knows how many different kinds of workplace reviews coming up where I work and it has brought me to consider what I believe qualifies good management. And my thinking is converging on: the simultaneous will to choose a direction among many and humility to say you do not know how to get there. And, above all, acknowledging the existence of both. If a manager claims both the direction and the path then you're stuck with whatever dogshit they've got rolling around in there.
