robert and sonia delaunay did a lot of color-geometry works like this, 'orphism', but i think seeing 'rhythme #2' (the first listed here) at the seattle art museum is one that really struck me about the importance of seeing physical non-screen brushwork and so on, even beyond things like scale and impasto
