looks like the middle segment of the games industry is starting to run out of money, not too long after all the VC funding dried up because of interest rates. those publishers willing to fund stuff are either smaller ones looking at smaller indies (few 100k) or huge games
its sad but unsurprising given how many studios in the industry rely on publisher/VC funding
and its not great if you're fully self funded either. it uh, it looks like our financial situation, where we're rapidly running out of money and may go bankrupt and become homeless 🙃 on the flip side if we can get kitsune tails out on time and it does reasonably well then we can continue making games for years to come
basically what i'm saying is that the entire games industry except for AAA is one bad year away from bankruptcy at all times
