i dont really want to get into it but i realized in the Why Twitter debate something ive not really seen brought up is that artists and content creators are more likely to need to post from a desktop/computer and most people are only ever going to view their content from a phone/mobile device.
unfortunately, the user experience between twitter desktop and mobile is pretty identical, making it ideal and low effort for creatives to put up their work and know how someone will see it/consume it. meanwhile, theres things like instagram desktop having limited functionality compared to the app or bluesky being mobile only right now for example.
asking other (and especially newer) platforms to have that same level of multi-device type support is unreasonable, but theres probably a considerable portion of the population of people and creatives, myself included, that need both that mobile and desktop accessibility if we want to even consider expanding to another platform.
idk, its bad out here but theres a fate worse than "starting over" on a new social media platform and its that the thing you worked hard on looks like garbo on mobile.
