its very late here, but does anyone have some comedy podcast recommendations. they can be comedy + whatever other topic i am just running out of stuff to watch/listen to again and i need the levity of some people being funny in my ears. i dont want to just scroll through apple podcasts because the last time i did that for a star trek podcast they kept making really bad taste jokes and i didnt enjoy it.

both are improv, but Comedy Bang! Bang! and Spontaneanation (unsure if it’s still going) are my old flames. CBB’s yearly best of episodes are the shit.

…also i used to do a great podcast with my buddy @ficalled Going Down With The Ship where we spun up cross-universe ships from random shit.

  • We Hate Movies (not as smarmy as it sounds; just four well-read NYC-area film/improv guys having fun joking about mostly mass-market garbage)
  • What A Cartoon (animation nerds behind a Simpsons podcast cover a different animated series every time, and do a deep dive on its production history before reviewing a single episode)
  • Totally Trans: Searching for the Trans Cultural Canon (a rotating cast of hosts discuss trans readings of pop culture and history)
  • Gayest Episode Ever (two gay men in the entertainment industry discuss the Very Special Episodes of classic sitcoms with queer content, though as they’ve been running out of those to talk about, they’ve expanded into several sub-podcasts about cartoons that led to childhood queer awakenings, sitcom episodes that were just batshit weird, etc.)
