its not even been a year since ive reorganized my room and im considering it again, all of these are just adding a 4x4 or 2x4 ikea kallax or two to the space on top of my existing furniture. its so hard to figure out a layout because of my stupid bed, my closet (that space in the upper left hand corner), power outlets, the AC/heating vent, etc. basically means i have to sacrifice something or deal with something annoying otherwise. i can't have it all and its driving me NUTS.

i guess also my bedroom has a stupidly tall ceiling so my housemate advised me to play with height but im also fucking short so it makes me nervous to make stuff too tall but i might have to at this rate lmao

in reply to @orchidrabbit's post:

How tall is stupid tall? With high enough ceilings you could maybe do a loft bed above the desk.. it makes that area of the room do double duty since one piece of furniture is directly above the other. Frees up that much room for other stuff.

my ceilings are about 8.5 ft tall which is among the tallest ceilings in the house. admittedly i'd rather not do a loft bed if at all possible since having had one throughout all of college and figuring my step up in adult life is not having one lmao (but not out of the question), however i am greatly considering getting bedrisers or getting a new bedframe with storage to be able to move some things around more. or stack up some shelves so there's more of a "wall" between certain portions of the room.
