looking back at a lot of the art ive been posting and uploading lately, really makes me wonder what my high school freshman art teacher who said "don't draw anime style" would say about my art style now. i don't think i draw in something that is very "anime" but it's defo anime adjacent/inspired and i don't try to hide those roots at all, even when the visual shorthand i use for certain things are a little bit closer to representational realism than it is fully "stylized".
i mostly just hope that kids don't get the same treatment i did over developing their art style while still in education. the style i draw in now is something i've only really started doing maybe within the past 4-5 years (and even then i still changed a lot within the past year). i drew entirely differently in college and maybe had a completely different art style every single year.
idk, how i draw now i think is how i wished i could've drawn when i was that high school freshman so i've become a little more confident in my rendering style and i'm excited to see where i go next with my art.
