my friends like to poke fun at me when i get mad that i can't have haggis or black pudding1 in the US or if we're watching some show and see a dish made of something "weird" and i say immediately "i want to eat that"
like humans of the past made food and ways to consume all parts of an animal, why the FUCK wouldn't i want to try to eat everything and anything that attempts to do so? i'll never know if i don't like it until i try it! maybe blood sausage is really appealing to my palette, but i'll never fucking know until i go to a country that actually allows me to eat it (unless i try to make it myself and im not gonna do that unless i have a lot of free time)

there's food standard laws in the US that prevent the sale of particular kinds of parts of an animal in typical commercial settings, digestive/intestine parts of sheep, and blood used in dishes is also one. this excludes things like being able to buy straight up pig or cow's blood, something that i've seen a lot in asian grocery stores over here.
