woes with animation software. tried to do the same action three times in three different softwares and the last one is obviously the best but thats because its from a software where the frame duration is very easily manipulated since its actually dedicated animation software. it just kills me that that software has literally everything i want but an option to turn off anti-aliasing on the brushes. damn

in reply to @orchidrabbit's post:

from left to right, pixquare, krita, and then rough animator. all of them have their strong points, but rough animator is really well optimized for working on an ipad even if the ui isnt pretty. pixquare is also on ipad and like if aesprite was on the ipad but made by a different person so its pretty good, krita is krita and i didnt even know it had animation capabilities until i was looking up free animation software. speaking on that, pixquare and rough animator arent free but are one time purchase apps

ive not used blender or toon boom for animaton before, i have trouble with the former's interface, and the price of the latter scares me away from it, even if its a bit of an "industry standard" lol. krita has a similar set up to clip studio paint's set up but they kind of have some funkiness around how their timelines work which turn me off to those programs. (it feels like straddling the gap between frame by frame and timeline which is weird? i only started using csp again after a few years and i feel like the way it does animation now is different) i prefer to have a timeline to look at and really only rough animator manages to deliver on a way that works well for my brain
